Why I Pay My Income Tax

Today there were a number of “Tea Parties” (protests over income taxation) all over the country. You may or may not have heard of these, but many people are fed up with the Government’s constant increasing of income tax at our expense.

Because the Tea Parties have been framed by the Main Stream Media as a “conservative” thing, many “liberals” got on Twitter today and started “tea bagging” the #teaparty discussion. There comments were mostly witticisms designed to ridicule the idea of legitimate protest of the income tax. Most were moronic and silly. After reading many of them I got fed up. Unthinking, unreasoning people who spout off without knowing what they are talking about sometimes push my button.

So I responded with my own set of witticisms. Maybe I shouldn’t have, but I did. So, I’m human.

Anyway. I was asked if there was a place where all 11 of my responses could be found, so I created this post to provide such a place. Without further ado, here are my top 11 reasons for why I pay my income tax, listed in no particular order:

1. I pay income tax because the gov’t holds a gun to my head and threatens me with jail if if don’t.
2. I pay income tax because they’re taken by the gov’t with every paycheck my employer writes.
3. I pay income tax because gov’t bureaucrats think I’m a never ending source of cash.
4. I pay income tax because you morons keep voting thieves into office.
5. I pay income tax because I haven’t got a choice.
6. I pay income tax because a gov’t that produces little of value spends way more than it morally has a right to.
7. I pay income tax because you morons think it’s a good thing and use the gov’t to force me to.
8. I pay income tax because unproductive people found out how easy it is to feed of the gov’t teats.
9. I pay income tax because because the incompetent couldn’t exist without them.
10. I pay income tax because too many unthinking people bought the lie that they’re necessary.
11. I pay income tax because the morons in Congress think they have a right to steal what, by the sweat of my brow, I earned.

Question: On what is the basis of the Income Tax? What is it’s purpose? Before you answer, ask yourself do you really know or are you simply spouting off what you’ve heard all your life? Have you studied to find out, or simply relied on the myths perpetrated by “society’s opinions”? If you rely on Government’s answers to these questions, ask yourself how does it benefit by its answers? Maybe there’s more to this question than meets the eye. Hmmmm.
